True Cut Blades is an internet based mail order business, targeting the scroll saw community and other woodworking specialties. While there are many retail suppliers who carry scroll saw blades, we felt I brought a unique combination of skills to customers who enjoy scrolling.
We are John & Janice Manuel. We are located in East Tennessee.     Janice has been a full time woodworker for more than 20 years. I make the odd and unusual items bigger shops don't want to do. I have the experience to answer your "how do I do this" questions when you call. I am familiar with many species of wood and the equipment found in a wood shop. As your scrolling skills improve, many general woodworking techniques such as stock preparation, shaping, joining, turning, sanding and finishing come into use.
I got my first scroll saw in 1991. It was an addition to my shop full of tools that allowed me to add decorative elements to the furniture and other items I was making. I used many designs from Pat Spielman's books. When I found a copy of Creative Woodworks and Crafts on a store display my scrolling took a big step forward. We got online in 1996 and became a regular participant in the scrolling related chat rooms that sprang up over the next several years.
We attended as many of the scroll saw picnics as we could, met many of the leaders in the scroll world and I got involved with the Scroll Saw Association of the World. I served two terms on the SAW Board of Directors and was Editor of SAWDUST for 4 years.
Over the years, I have added pattern designing to my list of skills. The projects I design reflect my background in general woodworking. The projects have been published in Creative Woodworks and Crafts over the last several years. There have been decorative boxes, a Corian nightlight, and Christmas ornaments. Look forward to more new designs from Janice in the future.
John is my husband of 26 years. He encourages me in all that I do. When you call with your orders or questions, it is Janice who answers the phone. I look forward to hearing from you all.
